When choosing a solid wood floor we will help you with advice in making the right choice and give you the solid wood floor you want and a floor that will last for life. We can bring samples to your home to see how the wood will look in its intended environment and also check that the environment will be suitable for a wood floor to remain stable.

Ecological - We only provide flooring from sustainable sources so you can be sure when choosing a Jchflooring solid floor that your wood has come from a well managed forest that is govern by the FSC or simular organisations.

The Survey - Probably the most important part of the procedure to having a wood floor. Wood flooring is a natural product making it hygroscopic and different wood species will react differently in varying environments. Its a complex issue but one you do not have to worry about as we will carry out the appropriate test to ensure that your new wood floor can remain stable after installation.

Moisture and Humidity - These two factors are the main reasons why a solid wood floor fails after an installation. If the environment for the new flooring is unstable it could have drastic effects on the floor. Plastering, concreting and even painting can increase the moisture and humidity levels. The problem is even though new plastered walls and concreted/screeded floors look dry they are probably not dry enough to accept a wood floor. Jchflooring guarantee that the environments are dry enough by using the appropriate testing equipment such as a hygrometer and moisture meter.

Sub-floor Preparation - Wood floors are also dependent on sub floor preparation works. Un-eveness, delaminating concrete surfaces and contamination will have to be resolved prior to the installation of the new floor. Jchflooring are very thorough when it comes to this work as it is the basis of this work that ensures a stable floor.

Acclimatisation - This is also a very important process and is often overlooked. Prior to installation the wood must acclimatise in the environment it is to be installed under normal conditions and all wet trades must be fully dry. With our survey we can ensure conditions will be suitable for acclimatisation. If this is carried out incorrectly it will have a diverese effect on the stability of the floor in the long term.

Installation - Depending of your sub-floor structure there are varying ways of installation. We will provide the most suitable installation method to your scenairio be it a stick down or secret nail ensuring the best results.

Finishes - Solid wood floors come pre-finished and unfinished. Some pre-finish floors still may require a final coat of oil or wax after installation. With an un finished floor you can choose from an oil wax or lacquer to get your desired effect which Jchflooring are more than capable of achieving.

We are specialist floor installers, not builders, carpenters or general tradesmen. All our works are carried out to BS8201 Code of practice for flooring of timber, timber products and wood based panel products and our installations are guaranteed. To date Jchflooring has a 100% success installation rate which is something we are very proud of and will continue to uphold.
